Cantera stone is a quarried, igneous rock that is mined almost exclusively from regions in Mexico and Central America. It was formed by nature with unique properties that make it perfect for architecture. Though soft, its texture and consistency allows for detailed carving and cutting. Cantera comes in many natural colors, and usually shows unique mineral spots and inclusions, which clearly show its stone authenticity.  It is used in hotels, shopping malls, office buildings and custom homes throughout the U.S., and still stands at palaces, haciendas and historic ruins in Latin America for centuries.
